The Great Wall
The Great Wall of China is one of the greatest wonders of the world. Stretching over 13,000 miles, it winds its way through mountains, deserts, and grasslands.
Built over centuries by various Chinese dynasties, the wall served as a military defense system. The most well-preserved sections near Beijing — at Badaling, Mutianyu, and Simatai — offer spectacular views and excellent hiking opportunities.
