Travel Notes | Eighth Day in Tibet Yanghu Lake: filled with water from snow-capped mountains

The biggest feature of Yanghu Lake is that all its water comes from the melted snow water of Nyenchen Tanglha Mountain and evaporates naturally. This is the last attraction on the last leg of your Tibet tour.

Yanghu is more than 100 kilometers away from Lhasa, and it takes about 2 hours by car from the hotel where we are staying. We originally set off at 8 o'clock, but unfortunately, the night before, the car was blocked by other vehicles in the narrow parking lane and could not move. Then we struggled for nearly two hours until the traffic police came and solved the problem.

The car set off at around 10 o'clock. The weather on the plateau changed at any time. After the dark clouds came over, it began to rain steadily. It was really frustrating. We temporarily decided to have lunch first and then go to Yanghu Lake in the afternoon.

We dined at a veteran's restaurant. The owner and staff of the Old Soldier Hotel are all veterans. They are honest and generous. We ate the most authentic Lancang River fish here. This is the most delicious fish we have eaten in Tibet except Schizothorax. It is fresh and tender, with less fish. Thorny, no earthy smell.

After dinner, the sky cleared up!

There is a "great god" in our group who boasts that he "brings his own sun, and the weather will be good wherever he goes." Anyway, we all give him the credit.

When we arrived at Yanghu Lake, we were viewing the scenery in Langkazi County, Shannan City.

The shore of Yanghu Lake is winding and slender, like a strip of green silk. We walked along the shore of Yanghu Lake. Due to the sunlight, Yanghu Lake had different colors from every angle. Sometimes it was mellow green, sometimes it was transparent lake blue, and sometimes it was alternately yellow and green.

The exact name of Yanghu Lake is "Yangzhuoyongcuo", which means "jasper lake in the pasture above"

Compared with Namtso, Yanghu has a stronger commercial atmosphere. There are people renting out Tibetan mastiffs, yaks, and Tibetan clothes for taking photos, and some letting people play a song, all occupying the best viewing positions.
