Xi'an
The Terracotta Army is a collection of thousands of life-sized clay soldiers, horses, and chariots buried with Emperor Qin Shi Huang. Discovered in 1974 by local farmers, this archaeological wonder is often called the Eighth Wonder of the World.
Three pits house over 8,000 soldiers, 520 horses, and 130 chariots, each with unique facial features.
Transportation
Bus: Take bus 306/914/915 from Xi'an Railway Station to the Terracotta Warriors Museum (1 hour). Tour bus: Available from major hotels.
Tickets
¥120 (peak season) / ¥100 (off-peak). Free for children under 1.4m and seniors over 65.
Travel Tips
Pit 1 is the largest and most impressive. Visit early to avoid crowds. Hire a guide for historical context. Photography inside the pits is not allowed. Allow 2-3 hours.
