This is my second time to go to Suzhou. The first time I went there, I took a day off during the working day. I was very busy at work at that time. What impressed me deeply was that when I visited the Lion Forest, I was still busy with work in the rockery. news...

I have always liked Suzhou gardens, but the first time I was in a bad mood because of work, I may not like Suzhou gardens much anymore, but this time, my enthusiasm was rekindled. This time I visited many gardens: the Master of Nets Garden, the Lingering Garden, the Couple Garden, the Humble Administrator’s Garden, the Lion Grove, and the Canglang Pavilion. For a tourist, that's a lot. I love it so much that my feet hurt when I walk every day.

This was my first meal on the day I went to Suzhou, taken at 7pm...

Because I didn’t have a good time in the morning, I just had a hasty cup of milk tea at the airport. Then when I landed at Hongqiao Airport and transferred to the high-speed train, I didn't arrange the time, so I bought some juice on the high-speed train to survive. In other words, I relied on two drinks to last until 7 pm...I was afraid that I would have hypoglycemia.

After eating the noodles, I walked around Pingjiang Road nearby. Because it was raining, there were very few people.

Then walk to the Master of the Nets Garden. When I arrived at the Master of the Nets Garden, my shoes (and feet) were completely wet, but without delay, I walked around the Master of the Nets Garden for another 2 hours...

I think the night tour of the Master of the Nets Garden is a very good experience. It is a truly immersive performance. You can watch various performances in a historical Suzhou garden.

Qili Shantang

Shantang Street as a scenic spot looks like this.

The only thing that can be called a good view is the view from the bridge. The shopping street is uninteresting.

Very beautiful at night.

But Qili Shantang is more than just a scenic spot. Qili, if you walk in the direction of Huqiu, you will reach the market of Suzhou.

Less than 500 meters away, it is another kind of atmosphere that is different from the scenic spot.

You can also eat cheap and delicious wontons and glutinous rice balls.

Without the dense red lanterns in the scenic area, it has a different feeling.

My favorite is Lingering Garden. In comparison, the Humble Administrator's Garden is too large. I think Suzhou gardens would be more interesting if they had some courtyard walls and some shielding.

Hanshan Temple

The moon is setting, crows are crying, and the sky is filled with frost. Jiang Feng, fishing fire, is facing melancholy. At Hanshan Temple outside Gusu City, the bell rang for the passenger ship at midnight.

This poem is so famous.

But coming here because of its reputation, there seems to be nothing to see.

On the other hand, there is also a garden scenery inside the temple, which surprised me. The temples I have seen are all simple and solemn. This is the first time I have seen such a beautiful setting.

The name of the poem is "Night Mooring at Maple Bridge", and this is Maple Bridge.

Canglang Pavilion

I really like Su-style thin noodles, also known as soy sauce noodles.

I also tried the more expensive noodles:

Three shrimp noodles.

Bald butter noodles.

The expensive noodles are not very delicious, not as good as the ones I had in Beijing... I have a guess: this kind of noodles is very difficult to make, even in local restaurants, it is easy to overturn.

When I ate bald butter rice, I figured out a way to eat it, that is, don't mix it, just take one bite of bald butter and one bite of rice. It's delicious. After bibimbap, the taste is average.

Drunken crab, rice wine brings a little sweetness, very delicious. But it tests the stomach...

The steamed crabs bought on the street are packaged in plastic bags and it feels like this.

Suzhou's old town and new town are completely different styles. The new town is very prosperous, and the old town is very well protected. What a well-planned city.

It happens to be the season of osmanthus, and you can smell the fragrance of osmanthus in many places.

There are also performances on Shantang Street, which are similar to those in the Master of the Nets Garden. You sit and watch the whole show, unlike the Master of the Nets Garden where you walk around. Moreover, there is amplification equipment here, because it is far away, so you can’t listen without the amplification equipment. Qing, I kind of doubt it's lip-synching.

In comparison, I prefer the Night Tour of Master of the Nets Garden.

Summarize

Suzhou Gardens are worth visiting. You don’t have to visit so many gardens like me. I recommend Suzhou Garden, Humble Administrator’s Garden, Lion Grove, and Pingjiang Road. You can eat, drink, and listen to Pingtan and Kunqu Opera on Pingjiang Road, and then go there again. Paired with the Lingering Garden and Master of the Nets Garden night tour. Suzhou is also a city with delicious food, especially thin noodles, which I like very much.
