Introduction to the Marshal's Plaque: During the war years of 1919, Marshal Zhu De took refuge in Zhaojue Temple for a time because of his close friendship with the abbot, Master Liaochen. Afterwards, Marshal Zhu De sent his secretary Zhou Guanhe to present a plaque with the words "Ying Shi Ren Jian" to Zhaojue Temple to repay the favor of refuge. Nowadays, the plaque hangs high in front of the Putuo Hall, and the incense in the temple is still strong.
