Foyer introduction: The foyer of the Lion Forest faces south and is nearly 20 meters wide. There is the General Gate in the middle and the threshold is 94 centimeters high. On both sides are drum-holding stones, reliefs of lions playing with hydrangeas and bangs fishing for golden toads. A plaque with the title "Lion Grove" written by Emperor Qianlong in gold letters on a red background hangs above the gate.
