Meiji Jingu Shrine Introduction: Meiji Jingu Shrine is an important Shinto shrine in Japan, covering an area of 70 hectares. It is the largest green space in the center of Tokyo except the Imperial Palace. The shrines of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken are enshrined here. It was founded in 1920 and was later destroyed and rebuilt. Every year, many people come here to pray, hold coming-of-age ceremonies, weddings and other ceremonies.
