Introduction to the verandah: In the east and west corridors (inner corridors) of the ceremonial gate of Nanhai Temple, many imperial steles of emperors of the past dynasties were erected to worship the Nanhai God. Due to the rich collection of steles, including inscriptions from the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, the Nanhai Temple is also known as the "Southern Stele Forest".
