Introduction to the Burning Lake: The Burning Lake of Membar Tsho is said to be the holy place where Patriarch Pema Lingpa went into the lake to retrieve the treasure of Master Padmasambhava. The lake contains the 8th century Rinpoche icon. This is a holy place that Bhutanese must visit in their lifetime.
