The Hezheng Paleontological Fossil Museum is unique in six of the world's best. It is the only vertebrate paleontological fossil museum in China. The Hezheng Paleozoological Fossil Museum is located in the east of the county. It is divided into two parts, the first phase and the second phase, covering an area of ​​65 acres. The first phase of the pavilion follows the traditional exhibition method, with murals and display panels based on the fauna, life era, and animal characteristics; the second phase of the pavilion mainly features waterfalls, small bridges, flowing water, giant mountains, mechanical animals, animal sculptures, space imaging, etc. Modern exhibits and methods are used to display the characteristics of different animal groups and representative animals, and truly reproduce the original ecological environment in which ancient animals lived in different historical periods. The fossils in the collection belong to two classes, 7 orders, 110 genera and species, with more than 30,000 pieces in total, including the unique Hezheng sheep, the largest three-toed horse fauna fossil origin, the richest spade-toothed elephant fossil, and the earliest Polodon fossil.
