Chairman Mao’s Inspection Memorial Hall in Xiangcheng was built to commemorate Comrade Mao Zedong’s inspection of Xiangcheng County in 1958. It is also a memorial place to praise and commemorate Chairman Mao. When Chairman Mao Zedong inspected Xiangcheng on August 7, 1958, he stopped in three places: Haozhuang Village, Shuangmiao Township, Houliangzhuang, Sanligou Township (now Houliangzhuang, Cigou Township), and Xiaozhangzhuang, Shilipu Township. When he saw the large tracts of tobacco leaves growing happily, he said happily: "You have become a kingdom of tobacco leaves!" After that, the reputation of "Tobacco Leaf Kingdom" spread all over the country. For more than half a century, Xiangcheng County has been shone with the aura of "Golden Xiangcheng" and has become famous ever since.

Chairman Mao's Inspection Memorial Hall is located in Baqi Square, Xiaozhangzhuang Village, Shilipu Town, northwest of Xiangcheng County. The square covers an area of ​​126 acres, and the museum area covers a total area of ​​8.7 acres. A 9-meter-high bronze statue of Chairman Mao stands in the square. There are 32 stele towers surrounding the bronze statue, and the 64 stone carvings all use Chairman Mao Zedong’s poetry and calligraphy works. The main body of the memorial hall is a colonnade-type group building, with a preface hall, a hall with inscriptions by hundreds of generals, a hall of calligraphy and painting collections, a hall of Mao Zedong's revolutionary practice, a Xiangcheng Tobacco Hall, and a VIP reception hall. Zhu pillars surround the outer corridors of each exhibition hall. A rockery is built behind the memorial hall, surrounded by man-made micro-terrain, with undulating patterns, interspersed with pavilions, terraces and pavilions, and the scenery is beautiful.
