Anyone who has read Xianxia novels must know Miao Jiang. "There are corpses in western Hunan, and there are poisonous poisons in Miao territory." The descriptions of Miao territory are mixed with a hint of mystery and strangeness. Naturally, it has become a secret place that travelers have longed for throughout the ages.

In ancient times, Miao territory mainly referred to the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and surrounding mountainous areas. Today, the Miao border division is no longer used. Only in the Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture in eastern Guizhou or the Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in western Hunan still have vague Miao border elements.

Last year, I went to the "Xiangxi Miao Frontier" and experienced the strange peaks and rocks at the source of the Wuling Mountains in Zhangjiajie. I heard that on the top of the Wuling Mountains in the "Miao Territory of Guizhou", there is a "city in the sky" that combines the wonders of Huangshan, the beauty of Emei, the dangers of Huashan, and the majesty of Taishan. It is called Fanjing Mountain.

1. Fanjing Mountain

Mount Fanjing is about 300 kilometers away from Guiyang and is located in Tongren. If you depart from Ningbo, you can take Qingdao Airlines direct to Tongren, and then take a bus directly to Mount Fanjing.

Unfortunately, Qingdao Airlines flights only operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, so we have no choice but to take the road through Guiyang and drive to Mount Fanjing. Of course, the main reason is poverty! After all, after using Spring and Autumn Xixin to fly to Guiyang, the round trip only costs 100 yuan in taxes and fees.

There are two entrances to Fanjing Mountain Scenic Area, namely the east entrance and the west entrance.

The entrance to the east line is located in Jiangkou County, which is relatively mature in development. You can choose to hike up the 8,000 steps up the mountain, or take the cable car directly up the mountain for 70 yuan one way.

The entrance to the west line is located in Yinjiang County. There is currently no ropeway, so you can only hike up the mountain.

Compared with the east-west route, Shumo recommends the west route more. Because the western route takes the ridgeline, the view is wider and you can see the Golden Summit from a distance. The entrance to the west line is Huguo Temple. From Huguo Temple, take the scenic bus to Mianxuling. After getting off the bus, walk to Jinding. The one-way distance is about 5 kilometers and the walking time is about 2 hours. The 8,000 steps on the east line are located in the valley. The mountain view from the east line is average. The only advantage is that there is a cable car. Taking the first cable car directly to the Golden Summit can avoid the crowds and achieve the freedom of climbing to the top.

Of course, only children have to choose multiple choice questions, and adults have to choose everything. Shumao and his group chose to go up the mountain from the west and then down the mountain from the east, sweeping the entire Fanjing Mountain at once.

However, God is not good with it! It was cloudy and foggy the whole way, and I didn’t even see what the mountain looked like after climbing! And because I chose to hike up the mountain, I arrived at the Golden Summit at almost 12 o'clock, which happened to be the peak period of crowds. I had to queue up to climb to the summit. It was expected to take 2 hours, so I gave up decisively.

TIPS:

1. The ticket is 100 yuan, the scenic car is 20 yuan (must buy), and the cable car is 70 yuan one way. Tickets can be purchased directly in the article "Fanjingshan Ecological Tourism Zone". Tickets for the east line can be purchased 3 days in advance, and tickets for the west line can only be purchased on the same day. All tickets are admitted in time periods.

2. The shortest self-driving route from the west line entrance to the east line entrance is about 80 kilometers and takes about 90 minutes. There is no public transportation, so if you drive by yourself, you need to leave someone to pick up the car.

3. At the east entrance, there is a direct bus to Phoenix, Hunan at three o'clock every afternoon. If you don’t drive yourself, you can choose to stay in Yinjiang on the first night, carpool to the entrance of the west line early the next morning, then take the cableway down from the top of the mountain, buy a ticket and go straight to Fenghuang Ancient City. Achieve perfect intercity crossing.

2. Zhaisha Dong Village

At the eastern entrance of Fanjing Mountain, there is a minority village - Zhaisha Dong Village. The village gates, squares, towers, and stilted buildings are all in good order. The entire village architecture reflects the ethnic charm, which is amazing. Of course, what’s amazing are the prices here. In the off-season, B&B prices are super cheap, with a standard room only costing 100 yuan/night, but hotel prices are ridiculously expensive, Zhijiang dry-pot duck is 68/jin! Yes, what the hell, you read that right, the unit is kilograms! A serving of dry-pot duck is about 3 pounds! Practice once again teaches us, "Don't call ducks when you're out!"

3. Qingyan Ancient Town

Qingyan Ancient Town is located in the south of Guiyang. It is one of the four ancient cities in Guizhou. It was originally a military garrison fortress during the Ming Dynasty. It was paved with blue rocks, hence its name. The main road in the town is steep and undulating, and the alleys are hazy and crisscrossed, exuding a poetic atmosphere that is full of words and endless meaning. The ancient town is a bit like Jiufen Old Street in Taipei, and Ernianban in Kyoto, Japan. Of course, it is more like an expanded version of Ningbo Hanling Old Street.

Due to the epidemic, you need to wear a mask at all times when visiting the ancient town. This makes Internet celebrities from all walks of life even more unscrupulous in taking photos! For example, slogans like "Don't block the door to take pictures" have made it even more suspected that there is no silver in this place.

TIPS: The entrance ticket to the ancient town is 10 yuan! Package ticket is 60 yuan! Buying a ticket of 10 yuan is enough!

4. Huaxi Yelang Valley

Not far from Qingyan Ancient Town, there is a mysterious karst park, Huaxi Yelang Valley. It is said that a certain master spent 20 years alone building it with his bare hands. Therefore, the ticket price is 20 yuan, which is very "foundational"! The parking fee is 20 yuan per time, which is very "reasonable"! Yelang is indeed very arrogant!

The entire scenic spot is not big. If you don't take pictures, it will only take half an hour to walk around.

5. Qianling Mountain

It's a good place to kill time in downtown Guiyang. The ticket only costs 5 yuan, and you can play with the monkeys when you enter the park. The monkeys here are all free-range. The more people they meet every day, the less afraid they will be. It will walk swaggeringly in front of the crowd and blatantly ask for food from the crowd. If the monkey is in a good mood, it will even perform a "real monkey show on a tree" for you. However, life is not always smooth sailing, and climbing trees is not always successful, and occasionally you fail.
