Travel Notes | Cycling in Sichuan and Tibet—day19-20 The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is breathtakingly beautiful, so I can’t ride anymore

day19 Nagqu-Gulu Town

It feels so good to start riding again. Now we are no longer riding the G318 Sichuan-Tibet Line, but the G109 Qinghai-Tibet Line. The scenery is also uniquely beautiful. Of course, the Qinghai-Tibet Line is prone to aesthetic fatigue because it looks like blue sky and white clouds prairie everywhere, which makes people want to sleep.

Just after leaving for a while, I saw many Tibetans riding horses as if going to the market. After asking, I found out that they were going to participate in horse racing. The enthusiastic Tibetans also invited us to visit.

The picture below is a bit confusing. On the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau with an average altitude of 4,500 meters, such a steep slope almost made me fall over. Alas, just to catch up with the child. It’s hard to take shortcuts! Facts have proved that we can't ride other people's children.

Someone was riding this slope with us, but they pushed us because we couldn’t ride anymore.

The Qinghai-Tibet Line is really a heavenly road ~ leading to the realm of the sky , so magnificent that it is breathtaking.

After finally getting on the road, I stopped to take pictures when I encountered the beautiful scenery.

Later, I went to the Jokhang Temple and sat there all afternoon watching the long head kowtow.

The Qinghai-Tibet Highway runs parallel to the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, and green trains can often be seen.

What a great project the Qinghai-Tibet Railway was back then. Now, when we ride along the railway, there are bridge openings every one kilometer. In each bridge opening sits a road maintenance worker, and there is only one beside him. Thermos bottle, the conditions are harsh and harsh, these workers who silently guard the heavenly road are even more ordinary devotees , give them a thumbs up.

Probably lack of oxygen at the plateau , plus I was even less energetic after lunch. I was very tired from riding this afternoon. The female man on the Sichuan-Tibet line was defeated by the Qinghai-Tibet line. . After discussing with my teammates, I stopped in Gulu Town , while my teammates went to Damxung County in front of me. I planned to take a day off to see Namtso , and we were just waiting. I'm going to meet up tomorrow. By the way, I borrowed my camera and said I wanted to take pictures of the sunrise.

Ah~ let me have a rest in Gulu Town and just look at the blue sky and white clouds.

day20 Gulu Town-Dangxiong

I don’t know why, but I felt like I couldn’t ride as soon as I got on the Qinghai-Tibet line. I always felt that my rear tire had a leak. I checked it several times and it was OK. It took me a while to get on the road after ten o’clock.

Slowly and calmly, Tuntun hurried on the road, but he received a call from Xiao Qiao, saying that he wanted to tell us a sad news... When we arrived, Xiong would apologize to us and treat us to dinner.

We had dinner at this restaurant. Xiao Qiao told us that he put his memory card in our camera to take pictures in Namtso, but lost our memory card and couldn't find it...

 

In other words, all the photos I took with my camera along the way are gone. The handsome photo of me riding a horse in Gol Temple... It makes me so sad, but I can't show it too obviously, so I can only say that it's okay if the photos are lost, the memories are gone. In my own mind, this is enough. In fact, I was thinking, hey, if I had gone to Dangxiong with them yesterday, maybe this wouldn't have happened.

Therefore, most of the photos in my travel notes were taken with a Mouse mobile phone. The picture quality is very poor and should be regarded as a record. The clear pictures were taken by Xiao Qiao’s camera and the captain’s camera.

Those photos that disappeared in Namtso are just photos, but our memories are deeply etched in our minds. There are regrets, but regrets will make memories clearer and more unforgettable.
