Introduction to Heian Shrine: Heian Shrine was built in 1895 to commemorate the 1100th anniversary of Heian's move to the capital. Its shape was designed according to the five-eighths miniature of Heian Kyo. There are three ponds and four gardens behind the green and red main hall. The shrine is dedicated to Emperor Kanmu and Emperor Komei.
