Changbai Mountain Tianchi

Let’s first take a look at how Du Niang introduced Changbai Mountain Tianchi.

Changbai Mountain Tianchi, also known as Baitou Mountain Tianchi, is located in the Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve in the southeast of Jilin Province. It is the boundary lake between China and North Korea. Tianchi is about 4,400 meters long from north to south and 3,370 meters wide from east to west. The altitude of the pool is 2,189.1 meters, the deepest point is 373 meters, and the average is 204 meters. The water surface area is 9.82 square kilometers and the circumference is 13.1 kilometers. According to "Changbai Mountain Jianggang Zhilue": "Tianchi is located at the center of the Changbai Mountain, surrounded by peaks, about 20 miles above the ground, so it is named Tianchi."

Tianchi in Changbai Mountain is the most complete Cenozoic multi-genesis composite volcano in China. Tianchi erupted frequently after the Song Dynasty. Starting in the 34th year of Guangxu’s reign in the Qing Dynasty (1908), Liu Jianfeng climbed Baiyun Mountain and named the sixteen peaks of Tianchi. , and it was discovered that this is the source of the Yalu, Songhua and Tumen rivers. The crater walls around Tianchi are steep, and more than a dozen peaks are formed, standing around the lake, all with an altitude of more than 2,500 meters.

Changbai Mountain Waterfall

If you want to rank the many scenic spots in the North Scenic Area, Tianchi ranks first, and the Changbai Mountain Waterfall can undoubtedly rank second.

Changbai Waterfall is located in the north of Tianchi Lake. There are sixteen strange peaks around Changbai Waterfall. There is a gap on the north side, called U-shaped gate (called Xiaomen in ancient times). Tianchi water flows down from it. Due to the high mountain and steep slope, the water is turbulent. At a glance, it looks like A slanting ladder is called "Tongtian River" or "Chengcha River". The Chengcha River spurts out from the mountain pass and falls straight down, forming a 68-meter-high waterfall - Changbai Waterfall. Changbai Falls is the source of Songhua River and the largest waterfall in Northeast my country.

There is a huge stone called "Cowherd Ferry" at the entrance of the waterfall, which divides the waterfall into two parts. Changbai Waterfall has thousands of water droplets flying down from the cliff, and the water spray sprays vertically and horizontally in an instant, which is very spectacular.

In addition, Changbai Falls is also the only outflow channel for Tianchi water.

Take the shuttle bus to the entrance of the attraction, and then you need to climb a short hill. This is a valley with peaks on both sides. The water of Changbai Falls rushes down from the middle of the valley.

The mountain should also be made of volcanoes, but there are not many traces of sulfur.

Just keep going straight along the trail

There are two small rivers here. The larger one on the right is the water of Tianchi, and the smaller one on the left is water gushing from hot springs. The hot spring with the highest temperature is as high as 83 degrees, which can cook eggs. Of course, the water source should be Tianchi

Du Niang said that Green Yuantan is not far from Changbai Waterfall. It is named after the shadow of Yue birch and the deep green water of the pond. There is Sangua Waterfall in Luyuantan. The water from the waterfall flows into a small green pond. There are colorful koi carp in the pond. It can also be regarded as an attraction.

It is a valley forest with a valley wall as high as 70 meters and a valley bottom of 2,500-3,000 meters long. There are a variety of lush plants growing on both sides of the boardwalk; tall pine trees block out the sky and the sun, and thick moss covers the tree trunks; when you walk along the boardwalk to 1,000 meters, walk left for 350 meters to see the Dongtian Waterfall, and go right 500 meters to reach the forest at the bottom of the valley.

There are towering ancient trees at the bottom of the valley. The trees are divided into three layers and huge rocks are scattered here and there. The trees above and below the cliff seem to be connected together, and you feel like you are submerged in a sea of green. The underground forest has a very high negative oxygen ion content and is called a "natural oxygen bar". It can be described as a "happy forest and leisure oxygen bar".

The tour guide knew that we had to rush in the afternoon, so he told us to walk 500 meters and then return to let you feel it.

Originally, my plan was to stay at the Swissotel Luneng Resort outside the Tianchi West Scenic Area in Changbai Mountain that night, so that I could spend half a day visiting the West Scenic Area the next day, and then head to Ji'an along the China-North Korea border along the Yalu River.

Although the journey is far and there is a high probability that we will have to walk at night, it is still very good to be able to stay close to the border and feel "on topic".

For this reason, I booked a hotel in Luneng Resort a few days in advance.

However, it is a pity that the hotel in Luneng Resort called yesterday and said that the town requires all local hotels to stop accepting guests, even if there is a nucleic acid report.

This policy is quite extreme!

In desperation, I had no choice but to choose the Pullman Hotel in Fusong. At least I could check in if I had a nucleic acid report.

But in this case, I will definitely not be able to go to Changbai Shanxi Scenic Area. Later I checked the weather forecast and it said it would rain tomorrow, which made me completely give up.

After leaving Erdaobaihe Town, we continued on National Highway 331, and then turned onto "Songtian Road" and soon arrived at the hotel.

The hotel environment is not bad, but of course there are not many guests. It seems that we have booked the hotel, so let's enjoy the night.
